This was my first major Ouchy at Kieve. I bit off more than I could chew while doing a rope swing on an island at Lake Damariscotta. I slipped on the wet bark, nearly fell to my death, but fortunately I found a comfortable position between several very large sharp rocks. There was a nice cradle of water between them all. It was scary, but once the million Wilderness First Responders who were with me realized that there were no major bones broken it became a much more memorable event. A large scrape and a twisted ankle was the end of that. I still feel like my chacos may have saved my life.
